      The possibility of combining the fire districts was researched and seriously debated over the course of the next few years. The proposed merger failed to gain the necessary support to be completed and the project was abandoned in 1991.

          Before the 911 emergency program began the Ebbetts Pass Fire District had a dedicated number to report emergencies. The phone number indicated in this article for non-emergency calls , 209-795-1646, has remained the main office phone number ever since.
