Although not a high response threat within the Ebbetts Pass Fire District, Haz-Mat training in a must for EPFD Firefighters since Highway 4 runs through the District. Hazardous Materials management is taught to EPFD personnel in a variety of levels including:
HazMat Awareness – identification and evaluation of hazardous materials
HazMat Operations – containment and mitigation of hazardous materials and gross decontamination
HazMat Technician which is the most advanced level of hazardous materials training – supervision of a hazardous materials incident and mitigation of extremely difficult hazardous materials situations
