The area in and around the Ebbetts Pass Fire District is within the Stanislaus National Forest and private lands in California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains and Foothills. The elevation of the District ranges from 2200 to 7000 feet. There are numerous rivers, streams, and lakes for summer enjoyment. The District has a neighboring ski area, the Bear Valley Ski area in Alpine County–just 40 minutes away from Arnold.
