Fire forks with one fork crossing Hwy 4 and burning 20 homes in Northwood and Mineral Mountain while the other fork burns towards Arnold’s Lakemont and Meadowmont subdivisions. Arnold area is evacuated. 40 miles of Hwy 4 is closed. 4,000 take refuge in an evacuation center in Bear Valley. 15,000 acres have burned and 3,692 firefighters are on scene.
