New Headquarters Station #1 Construction Progress Photos - 2006 to 2007.

A short letter from the Chief regarding the new construction.

Set 1:

Trees are removed for construction to begin. Firefighters place a sign at the construction site. Heavy equipment gets stuck in soft ground. 042606,

Set 2:

Debris pile made ready for hauling away.  Volunteer Firefighter Steve Masari's son, Joey, made a model of his version of new EPFD Station #1.  The model was placed on the lot for a photo. 050306,

Set 3:

Two photos of the earth moving & lot work as of 05/26/07 from the Blagen Road side of the lot and two photos of the foundation prep work from the Dunbar Road side of the lot.  07/17/06.

Forming for the foundation work has begun.  Three photos from the Dunbar Road side of the lot and one from the Blagen Road side taken 07/26/06.

Set 4:

Conduit placed for electrical and plumbing placed prior to the pour of the floor slabs, 08/11/06.

Construction bricks and main structural steel members arrive and floor slabs are poured, 08/20/06 to 09/05/06.

Set 5:

Main structural steel supports are put up and roofing members are put in place, 09/15/06 to 09/30/06.

Roofing and interior work has begun,  Concrete forming for sidewalks and driveways are ready for concrete work, 10/01/06 to 10/28/06.

Set 6:

Back ramp and parking lot concrete pour began,  Interior insulation and wall sheeting arrived.  Mechanics shop goes up.  Front ramp concrete dry and ready for use, 11/06/06 to 12/08/06.

Interior wall studs go up,  Exterior siding goes on , 11/06/06 to 12/08/06.

Set 7:

Construction moves along during January as a mild winter allows for plenty of work to be completed,  Interior sheet rocking is hung.  Mechanics shop gets exterior siding finished, 01/21/07.

 Interior apparatus room work continues.  Cabinetry arrives and is installed in the kitchen and other areas.  Exterior trim and sheeting is completed, 02/19/07.

Set 8:

The Station gets its new sign.  Mechanics shop continues to get finish work.  Kitchen stove and appliances get installed.  Apparatus Room has been painted.  More cabinetry and carpeting is installed.  03/21/07.

Set 9:

Construction began one year ago on April 26, 2006 (see Photo Set #1). Today, April 26, 2007, the move into the new EPFD Station #1 began.  Apparatus are parked while employees assist with the move.  04/26/07.

The New Station Opens 05/10/07

Major construction done, Ebbetts Pass Fire District takes partial occupancy of the New Station #1 on 05/10/07.  Celebrating with a pot-luck dinner for current and past paid and volunteer staff and families.

The first Board of Directors meeting on 06/18/07.  Firefighter J. Higgins receives permanent employee status with the first badge presentation at the new station 06/18/07.
